As part of our membership of the Master Builders’ Association, our Construction + Projects team regularly contribute to the education and training of the construction industry.

Recently, Mark Yum was invited by the St George division of the MBA to present to the St George division members of the MBA about risk management in the construction industry.  As a St George local, Mark relished the opportunity to pass-on knowledge to local St George builders and generally, contribute to the betterment of the construction industry.

Mark was requested to focus the seminar on the effective risk management by builders.  Mark provided 5 key ways to achieve good risk management, being:

  1. understand construction risk
  2. continuously managing and treat risk
  3. minimise risk of unpaid variations
  4. spread and share risk with other stakeholders
  5. manage cash-flow through good claims management

The presentation was well-received by the 60-strong audience.
